My own Fantasy Football Team!

The Crimson Coopers!

I'm so flattered.  One of my new buddies named their football team after little old me!

Now I have to cheer for Aaron Rodgers (and Tom Brady, of course)!

I need an agent.

That's me in the Harvard Gazette (and Mama too)!  I got a little bit busted for dragging her into my business, but she never stays mad at me too long!

Seriously though, I think I need an agent.

I think I'm getting famous!!

This is the current publication of The  Division of Medical Sciences Bulletin from Harvard Medical School.  As you can see, that's me on the cover!

Check it out for yourself: http://dmsbulletin.hms.harvard.edu/?p=1484

Ok Matt Lauer, when are you gonna call?  Maybe I might need to find time in the day to hire a publicist....

I earned a pillow!

Today was my workday. I came home pretty tired. Papa said, "Ok Coop, go ahead. On Thursdays, you can have a pillow too."

08/23/11 Back to work

Phheeew! I'm tired. At first I couldn't control my excitement when I saw all of my colleagues at the library. I happily ran around nonstop like a mad man! But of course, I then had to reel it in and focus on work. The new school year just started, so my first day back from vacay was a tough one: I saw 15 students in one session! --a record for me. I really hope this year's class won't request regular group-therapy sessions!

Aaaaahh...this is the life

Now this is more like it!

Yesterday, Mama got me up at 5:30am just to make it back to the medical school for work. 5:30! Can you believe it? I was groggy during the ride to Boston, but I couldn't stop my tail from waggin when I saw the library.

But I gotta say, gettin back to Cape Cod just in time for sunset on the water today was awesome.

08-14-11 Vacay is awesome!

We had cake!! My Papa is one of U.S. News & World Report's Best Doctors 2011! Yaaaaaaay Papa!

After cake, things got even better...I got to run in the water and chase birds during low tide!

08-14-11 Dog Bar, here I come!

I made it! My favorite vacation spot ever! I get so excited at The Cape. Mama and Papa got a new rental on our usual beach and I love it! I have a great view of the ocean from our deck and we are steps away from the water. Tomorrow, I'm promised my trip to the Dog Bar. Hooray!!

Dog Bar!

I need a dog bar! Mama and Papa said they saw one at the Cape. You see, I met this mean lady at my work yesterday who kept saying "get the dog away from me. Keep the dog away from me."
Ouch! Emily said she regularly throws attitude around the library. But uhm, hello! I'm pretty cute.

Anyway, who knew that humans could be so prejudiced! I mean, "if thou pricks me, do I not bleed?"

Sure hope the Dog Bar is pure Vodka!

I took a Vacation-Day! 7/28/11

Look at my lovely view from Aunt Mary's vacation rental!

I called in "sick" today.  Technically, I took a "personal" day.   My Anderson family are at The Cape, so Mama, Papa and I took a day-trip down to visit them.

I had so much fun running on the beach during low-tide!  Who knew that relaxing could be so tiring though!?

Relaxing is sooo tiring!

$100 Bribe !

This might compromise my journalistic integrity.

I got bribed!  I made my first $100 today!  Grandpa gave it to me so that I only put "approved" postings of him in my blog. Can you believe it?

Dear Cousin Casey, Cousin Dexter and Cousin Yoji:  Blogging can be lucrative!
Do I have to give it back Mama?

Twins!

Who's Danny DeVito?
I never saw the movie "Twins," but Papa said he and Grandpa look just like the guys from that movie!

Kennebunkport, Maine

I made it to Maine! That's me; that's the Bush Estate in the distance.    Hmmmmm....I'd really like to take a poops there.

7/19/11 Happy Birthday Grandma

My Grandma and Grandpa from California are here! Today was Grandma's birthday. I'm so excited! I've been expecting  their visit for a while. I had it all planned out : First we would go to The Medical School. I would show them around my work. Then after a long day, we'd all go out for a steaak dinner.

When they woke up (they're on California time), we drove to my work and we walked through campus to the Library. I led the way, of course. We got to the glass doors of my building and I told the guard, "They're with me." And Presto! They didn't need a Harvard ID to get by. I showed them my office and also all around the different floors of the library. They took lots of photos, so I think I made them proud.

At the end of my day, Mama and Grandma showed up to get me a bit early. I was with two clients, but left them immediately when I heard my ride was here to get me! Grandma said "Cooper did you say sorry for leaving early?" Oops! I ran back around the corner to them to say sorry and bye and sped back to Mama and Grandma amidst lots of laughter.

In the evening, the adults went to The Top of The Hub restaurant for a fancy dinner. I didn't get to go. So much for my dream of taking Grandma to a good ole steakhouse for her birthday!

Wanted: Harvard Therapy Dog Assistant

I am exhausted!  Who knew that being a therapy dog to Harvard academics would be soooo tiring.  Don't get me wrong, I love spreading the cheer around the HMS campus, but phe-e-e-e-w, this gig is getting BUSY!  For example, did you know that I now have a "waiting list?"  Yup.  For any walk-in clients that would like to see me when I am already with a patron, they can add their name to the waiting list.

I think I might advertise for an assistant.  Wadda ya think? I mean, the deans and chiefs around here have vice-deans and vice-chiefs.  Why can't there be a Vice-Therapy dog?

Hmmm, an assistant wouldn't be a bad idea??

Score One for Cooper! Thursday, 7/14/11

I pulled a fast one on my colleagues!  Today was a particularly busy one in the office.  So I pulled the "gotta go to the bathroom"
excuse.  You all know how that goes, right?  Your boss asks you to do something you don't really want to do right now and you come up with the..."oh, I'm gonna just run to the restroom"  line.

For me, I just sat-pretty and waited for my buddies to take me out to the HMS quad to "go potty."  While out there, I took the liberty to run all over the grassy expanse and just enjoy the beautiful day!  Just when I thought I got away with a brilliant move,  I heard Emily telling Mama about my scam just as we were about to leave for home.

Hey, even a Therapy Dog needs a break once in a while!

July 4th!

I took Mama and Papa bike riding today! It's one of my favorite activities. Sunshine above and wind in my fur --it's a poor dog's convertible! We biked along the Charles River to the Esplanade to check out the July 4th festivities.

I thought I was in heaven; I could smell Italian sausages, funnel cakes, burgers and ribs.

Wanna know what I ended up with?   Nada. Zilcho! ...and Mama and Papa claim to love me?? Not so sure anymore.

"What's so great about Harvard?"

So you'll never believe what we did on my day off?  Of all places Mama and Papa decided to relax at, they chose to bring me to Harvard Yard.  Can't I catch a break?  Note to Mama and Papa:  "Hey guys, we already work at Harvard, maybe someplace a bit more adventurous next time?"

Mama, of course, thought it would be a great idea to wear my Harvard bandanna.  Then she asked me to head up the stairs of the Memorial Library.  I obliged, weaving my way up between tourists. When I stopped to face Mama, the steps around me had cleared and all I could hear were cameras going off behind and beside my Mama.  Who knew that all those people would snap my photo too?  Apparently Australian, British, Indian and Asian tourists think I'm super cute.  (I was secretly hoping Mama would share my "celebrity status,"  but she mainly kept it on the down-low.     "But Mama, what if a Hollywood agent is out there?")

As we were lazing on our blanket, two little brothers (5 1/2 and 7yrs old) wandered over and sat down.  While petting me,  the smaller one asked my Mama, "What's so big about this place?  It's just a buncha' buildins."  Mama quickly agreed with his logic.  Then he turned to his mom and said, "Mommy, can we just stay with the doggie?"

Take that John Harvard!  I might get a statue one day too.

I think my Papa is stalking me!

Looking out the car window-- I see my Papa!!

Oh my God!  First I see my Papa at my work, then I see him out the car window on my drive home!

"We already live together Papa.  You might wanna give me a wee bit of space..."

No coffee break for this pup!

Boy oh boy have I been busy.  I was so busy today that when Mama and Papa came by in the afternoon for a coffee break, I had to turn them down. They just happened to come by when I was with my 3 o'clock.  Business before pleasure guys.

Funny thing is..I had just bumped into Papa outside the library while I was on a restroom-break with Joshua. Once I saw Papa, I ran up to him with my butt and tail awaggin'. Papa didn't introduce himself, so I think Joshua was a bit confused by my excitement over a mere "stranger."   But  OMG!  Let's focus on what's important:  Can someone please tell me "when did my Papa start working at my work?"

At about 5:00, Mama came by to pick me up-- much earlier than usual (I don't think she appreciates my high-traffic hours).   5:00 is when people go home and I get lots of love on their way out! For example, have I told you about Karen?  Karen is one of my favorites. She doesn't work on my floor, but I perk up when she visits.  I think she's super sweet.  She always stops by to say "hello" in the morning and "bye" in the evening.  Certainly Mama wouldn't knowingly deprive me of this?

It turns out that Mama waited patiently around the corner while my session was running late. After 5 minutes though, I caught a small glimpse of her and sat-pretty to get her attention (even though my 4:15 clients were still around).   My coworker, Emily, stalled a bit (btw, she's great),  and told Mama about a few of my appointments.  There was a lady today who just wanted to sit and pet me on the sofa  for the entire session.  Ain't no complainin' from this pup!  Earlier, there was a lady and two guys who were dressed identically in blue from head to toe.  Humans can be so weird.   Emily told Mama that they were residents still dressed in their scrubs.   I've seen the lady once before and happily greeted her.  Her mood seemed lighter and happier after just one treatment with me.  I think I'm honing my skills!

Before I forget, I've got to tell you why I love Emily. Sometimes when I'm having a gap between appointments, I give her my best puppy-face and come-hither stare.  It works like a charm!  She follows me to my sofa and works on her computer while keeping me company.  Aaah, I cherish those quiet times.

George Clooney & Elisabetta Canalis-- from Cooper's Perspective

So my Aunt Anne just asked what  I thought about the breakup of George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis. After two years together and what seemed to be a happy relationship, they have parted ways.

My advice to the ladies is simple.  In fact, in my mind, it's a no-brainer:  After a year together with your man, bring him to the vet to get neutered.  This way, he will be calmer, cuddlier and forever loyal.  Trust me, I know!

Cooper's weekend work at Neville Place, Cambridge MA

Here I am awaiting my Caring Canines team at Neville Place in Cambridge, MA.  Mama and I are team leaders for this visit.  This usually means I need to step up to the plate and reign in the troops!

To the right, you'll see the team I had for this mission:  Annie, a Poodle-Shih-tzu mix who won my heart, Murphy, the English Springer Spaniel who's my buddy on visits, and Gracie, the beautiful big Goldendoodle.

The visit was a good one.  Mama and I met a very eloquent Armenian couple from Belmont who've been married for 59 years!  You know what happened when Mama asked what the secret to a lasting marriage was?   The husband answered, "she's right," at the exact same time that his wife answered, "he's right."   ---Super cute!!

Later we met a funny man named Manny (see the picture to the right).  He was such a big flirt with my Mama and all the ladies!  He said to Mama, "just put the puppy on the next guy's lap and you come sit on mine!"  She was a bit shocked and laughed a bit.  She tried to get him to pet me, but then he reached his hand out and rubbed Mama's chin and cheek!  While I think he was harmless, we best not tell Papa.

Next I met a wonderful lady named Nora (see below).  We had a very nice chat.  She told me that Manny was 700 dog-years old!  Wow. That's 100 human years.  She said that after we take her picture, we should take his  photo and submit it to the police!

Overall, it was a fun and funny visit.  There were lots of smiles all around the room!

When we got home, Papa told me that we were going to go to the neighborhood block party.  Hope I can get some grilled chicken breast as a reward for a job well done !!!
